Life-Size Concrete VW Beetle Reef
Jason deCaires Taylor, who first started sinking cement statues in an effort to create manmade, artistic reefs for marine life, has just completed his latest work: submerging a life size VW Beetle in the Manchones Reef in Cancun, Mexico. The interior is even designed to house fish and crustaceans… I’d like to live in a VW beetle at the bottom of the sea. Or perhaps a Land Rover.
